Many business owners have problems attracting the right kinds of people to buy from them.
Marketing is not just about getting people to buy from you. Instead you need to focus on how to find the right kind of people.
But who are the right kinds of people?
How can – or should – you define/identify them?
Another way I like to ask this question is:
What is your target audience profile?
If you are not sure, or simply do not know, THIS is as good an opportunity as ever, right now, right here, as you read this, to begin THINKING it all up!
I offer a few insights below.
The right kinds of people are those…
- Who will appreciate what you do, enough to be willing to pay you good money, or whatever amount you want them to pay you, to get it.
- Who will be fair minded and speak impartially/objectively – and truthfully! – about what you’ve done for them, after you have parted ways.
- Who will be willing to tell other people what you have done for them, even when you’re not there – thereby attesting to the authenticity of solutions you offer.
- Who will have no difficulty – once satisfied with the solution you’ve provided – recommending you to others.
- With whom you will have relationships, hopefully for very long periods of time, that will evolve into friendships.
Those are the kinds of people I have as my clients.
They are the kinds of people I recommend YOU have as YOUR clients or buyers.
The ideas I share on this page, and this blog can enable you attract the above mentioned kinds of people to buy from you, if you apply them with intelligence, creativity, diligence and persistence.
Every results-focused business person engaged in marketing activities in the 21st century must – as a matter of necessity – invest in using writing and speaking to better connect with potential clients/buyers.
It is with regard to the latter, that we notice many smart business owners/independent consultants offering “talks” and other learning events, sometimes paid, but often free to their target audiences.
They do so because they understand the powerful client recruitment benefits to be had from speaking to large groups of likeminded people potentially interested at the same time.
You can use a Speaker One Sheet document – designed to meet your own unique needs – to boost your name/brand recognition and ultimately win clients over
I don’t really believe there is any limit to what you can do with the information I share here.
You only need to apply creativity and a willingness to persist till you get the results you want.
I’ve written lots of articles in the past about how to use your writing and speaking to attract profitable, high profile buyers.
The use of a Speaker One Sheet is yet another dimension to what I have already discussed with regard to using Public Speaking for Business Marketing.
Over the past decade or so, as I evolved my brand as a multi-skilled entrepreneur (aka Multipreneur) , I’ve learnt how to use a Speaker One Sheet to communicate details of what I offer by way of talks, seminars, coaching programs, workshops and other learning events.
Over the last 15 years or so, I’ve studied experts, especially outside Africa to learn how to develop unique resources, like the Speaker One Sheet, to attract potential clients – especially when one lacks money to use conventional paid channels or strategies.
In many cases, as I’ve noted in other articles describing how I’ve borrowed ideas from other cultures, I’ve had to creatively adapt what I learned about using the Speaker One Sheet, to suit my needs out here in Nigeria/Africa.
Indeed, experience taught me that when one is completely down to zero, with regard to having money to carry out marketing or advertising, the BRAIN tends can really be pushed to produce amazing ideas, if one is willing to test it to its perceived limits.
When you succeed in doing so, you suddenly discover it can be pushed even further – and much further too.
I’ve traveled that road, which is why I know it works – hence my recommendation that YOU think less of spending money of paid outlets, until you’ve put ideas like the one described on THIS page to test fully.
I recommend you aim to produce Speaker One Sheets, describing learning solutions you offer in a manner that makes people consider inviting you to SHARE your expert information and insights.
That process can ultimately opens potential doors of opportunities for you to communicate to others things you have to offer – whether for a fee or for free.
I’ve prepared this video and THIS article because I know there will be others looking for help in coming up with their own variant of this concept, to get around marketing/business promotion challenges they are facing.
Hopefully, what you learn will equip you to better evolve your own brand, with regard to marketing or any other business promotion goal you may have.
I try very hard to adopt strategies that enable me to get rid, as early as possible, of people who do not fit my target audience profile.
I do this because I do not want people who will be annoyances in my business, and I do not want to constitute an annoyance to anybody.
The instrument called a Speaker One sheet can be quite useful for achieving the above stated end.
I offer an analysis of the various sections (A to H) using one of my own Speaker One Sheets (below).
Like I noted earlier on in this piece, I evolved my own branded range of Speaker One Sheets, based on my studies of many others I’ve found online – especially on websites owned by experts based in the USA.
Final Words
It is noteworthy here that I publish each of my Speaker One Sheets in PDF as well as image (PNG) formats.
This is to ensure they can be accessed and viewed by as many persons fitting my target audience profile as possible – regardless of what platform they use.
I recommend you aim to do the same thing with your own Speaker One Sheet, and indeed any other similar resources you use for your business promotion.
One more thing I do is to publish a blog post with highlights of each Speaker One Sheet (like this one), linking it to the different downloadable format
s it is available in.
Then I send the URL to that blog post to any persons I wish to share the Speaker One Sheet with, so s/he can pick and choose from all that is provided.
