As most of those who follow my writing may be aware, due to the fact that I work as a multipreneur, I have clients in various markets/industries.
Some of you have been with me for years, and know that in 2013 when I relocated to Cotonou and began to work from there (starting of course, as you may know from the story – click here – by sleeping on the streets) I didn’t have many international clients. Apart from him, all the other buyers I had were Nigerians living in Nigeria.
It was after I crossed the border and began living in Benin Republic, during the first eighteen months – that was when I really gained massive leverage in terms of my name and brand recognition. I began to get heavy visibility from the search engines, and a lot of enquiries.
Yeah okay, I had always been getting a lot of inquiries actually from different parts of the world. However, the sales never happened, apart from Ronald Vaughan.
But when I crossed the border, something changed.
Believe me, when I talk to you about marketing online, as a person who is a black skinned African living in Africa, believe me – I can tell you this, and you can take it to the bank anytime.
It’s not the same thing as what the person living in Europe or America would tell you.
Whether they are light skinned or black skinned, or even if they are anything in between,
The experience of the person who is selling solutions, using the web, when s/he is doing that in relation to a target audience that is based in Africa AND from a platform that is physically located in Africa or a business model that is operating within the African continent.
The experience the person has will often be very, very, very, VERY different from what a person who is doing similar stuff, from his base in Europe and America or Asia.
And that is why it is important for you to pay attention to the things I say because I have been able to test a lot of the ideas, from different experts in different parts of the world, in order to arrive at where I am today (with regard to the unconventional, self-sustaining Web Marketing successes I continue to record).
And therefore I tell people all the time: I am an EXPERT AUTHORITY on the subject of Web Marketing.
Not just web marketing to people within the African continent locally, but also to an international audience, because I am able to connect emotionally and intellectually to buyers in virtually all continents – and I’ve made sales that prove I KNOW what I’m talking about.
