“As National (Rabbit) Council, we’ve been saying for the last 12 to 15 odd years, that Rabbit has the potential of being the saviour of Africa, from protein point of view. The reasons behind that are a multitude…
1. Rabbit meat is high in protein and low in Cholesterol
2. They take up little space and don’t eat much.
3. They require less water than chickens and put out less waste than cows.
4. Rabbit Grgurin says, may be the greenest meat (yields minimal carbon footprint compared to other livestock – especially feedlot-ing of animals on large scale).
5. They are prolific breeders.
